photos

Here are a few pics of the little Thomas, just need to still edit them

CONGRATULATIONS and CATastrophy

CONGRATS

Yeah!!

A huge big congrats to Caryn and Simon who recently got engaged

Wow that’s such fantastic news, I am so happy for you guys

May your lives be filled with happiness, joy and love

And sadly that is another wedding that I won’t be attending (unless someone would be so kind as to sponsor me a ticket to NZ) *hint*hint*

I am so proud of B- he did his scenario training yesterday for the VWF (volunteer wild-fire fighter)

And they made him a team leader, so fantastic I am so proud of you my love, plus he passed his fitness test the other day, seeing as summer time might decide to come to CT one of these days and I will be a lonely fire widow LOL

Ok so I have a bit of a predicament

Cleo, my beloved cat is the cutest most amazing kitty ever (no I’m not biased) she has always been very friendly but since moving into our place, she is being tormented by the neighbourhood cats

We have had her at the vet twice for pretty serious injuries (hence the fact that she has her own medical aid- don’t laugh)

Now these cats (well one that we have identified) come into our house, spray all over everything (even my room) and eat her food (I do not want to supply Hills to the neighbourhood)

But Cleo is petrified of these cats – can you blame her?

And I have no idea how to keep them out

Because anything we use will affect her too

The vet is no help; he doesn’t understand why the cats are after her because she has been spade when she was little?

Any advice

I can’t put in one of those magnetic cat doors as we are only renting?????

ITS THE WEEKEND BAAAAAABY

Now who was the bright spark who decided that we should have a public holiday on a THURSDAY?????

Oh well, not bad for this bright spark that had the forethought to take a days leave on Friday, so LONG weekend for me

My cousin is getting married on Saturday, and sadly I won’t be in JHB for the wedding, just want to wish Shirl and Chris all the happiness in the world!!

So Friday its off to take B’s mum to the airport again for her Israel trip, Sat a kiddie party and Sunday I’m going to go take some photos of Nicky and baby Thomas (WHOOO HOOOO)

Damn I am so over this day, which typically is DRAAAAAAging

Anyway just a quick hi, until next week, sure I will have more interesting news by then

Nix belly 38 weeks

2 days before Thomas’ arrival

Marthie just for you!!!!!

its been a while

Ok so I have been told to update my blog and I better listen before I get badly beaten up by a preggie

So life this side has been on a bit of a boring side, not much has changed- still hate work with a damn passion

But I want to say a BIG CONGRATULATIONS to Angela and Lawrence for their wedding on Saturday 12/9, I so wish that I could have been there, but sorry NZ is a big far for a day trip, may your lives be blessed

Seems to be the month of weddings,

Good Luck to Shirley and Chris who will be getting married on Sat 26/9, wish that I could be there, but I cannot wait to see the pics, Shirl I just know that you will be a beautiful bride

And on the good side- Nicky had her baby BOY on Monday 7/9, yes it was a boy- SEE I WAS RIGHT, Congrats to Nix and Alan on birth of the newest member of your family THOMAS

And wow what a cutie he is, Nix you make an excellent mum, now I cant wait to take some pics of the little munchkin

Damn but life is just rushing by, you blink and the weeks are just flying by do you know that there are 3 months till Christmas- or should I say 98 days? Or 2362 hours? (no I didn’t count that’s what the internet is for)

Which brings me to some exciting news (for me anyway)

My aunt is going to be in SA for Christmas, the only family that I will be seeing in the last 4 or 5 years

I am so super excited, I miss my family so much and feel so cut off from them

And with so many preggy faeries around me, this upcoming year is going to be a damn exciting one!!!!!!!!

Good luck to all my buddies waiting for the BFP, yours will be coming soon

Wow

Things have been crazy this side

2 weeks ago B started getting ill, after a visit to the Dr we found out he has Bronchial Pneumonia and a Viral infection in his nose

So plenty of bed rest and fluids- I have been pampering him day and night

Sat I was supposed to go to Nix’s baby shower- but he was so ill and I felt so bad for leaving him that I decided to stay home. Thank you so much my friend for being so understanding

So I put on my sexy nurses outfit (B wishes) and did my best

Now as we all know men are the best patients when they are ill (to be said with dripping sarcasm)

So Monday I go and have some tea with Nix and catch up, see the baby’s room (its fantastic by the way)

So Mr B decides to go in for a meeting on Tuesday and promises me that he will go straight home afterwards which should be about 11h00, well the bugger drops the car off at my office at 14h30 looking like DEATH!!!!!!!!!

By this time I am fuming and he cant understand why I am so cross, I mean really I have been running around looking after you (not that I mind) but you have just wrecked it all by spending almost the whole day in the office when I told you that (I get pneumonia regularly and I know that your body takes a long time to heal)

So its back to the Dr- and guess what B now has a secondary infection URGH!!

Oh well

I’ve been thinking about my folks a lot recently and find it really odd as it’s not the norm

Normally I think about them a lot as the anniversaries of their deaths approach but that’s only in November

It’s not just doom and gloom and feel sorry for myself thoughts, I am having happy ones too, memories and things like that

I do just want to say a big thanks to all my online buddies, who have been with me through thick and thin

Exciting stuff happening in your lives right now, a lot of you. Just want to let you know that you are all in my thoughts ALWAYS

this past weekend

Realised that I need to try and post a little more often than I am, not very good at this am I?

Last Friday B took me to watch the new Harry Potter movie that I have been dying to see, I have read all the books- at least twice, and I couldn’t wait to see the movie

What a disappointment,

Well at least I didn’t find it as good as the others; to me it seemed as if they concentrated far too much on the parts that weren’t important and just rushed over the parts that were

BUT MAYBE THAT’S JUST ME

So going to have to hope and pray that they sort themselves out for the next one

Saturday I laughed more than I have in a very long time

Ok for those who don’t know I am a bit of an artsy fartsy person- I paint, I draw, I do scrap booking, but I have developed a love for photography and I would love to get in to Maternity and baby photography (esp. newborns)

I have been getting loads of advice (THANK YOU) and I received Photoshop and Corel Draw for my birthday (THANK YOU)

So I asked my special guinea pig Nicky if I could borrow her and her gorgeous preggy belly to practice on

Well as I said, I haven’t laughed that hard in a long time, I had so much fun

THANKS GIRL

And I have to admit- for a first time I don’t think that my photos came out too badly, now I just need to figure this whole photoshop thing out (either its damn hard or I am just doff)

So I can play around with them

Afterwards we met some of the OPM ladies for lunch at Cavendish- it was quite small- just 4 of us, but it was perfect and we had an absolute ball

Nix and I did a spot of shopping for her hospital bag- now I was totally freaked out, what is wrong with the shops, every button down set of Jimmy Jams looks like it came out with the VoorTrekkers

Now I mean really, what is up with that

Luckily we found a really nice pair that didn’t look like her great granny could have worn it

Saturday night was RUGBY night- and yes again Rascals was the place to be in the Southern Suburbs of Slaap Stad

How I love being a local-the pub was SO packed but lo and behold I had just walked in the door and there was a chair for me

Sunday I had big plans to sit and veg the whole day- I am so exhausted, haven’t been sleeping well at all

In fact the bags under my eyes have bags

And what do I spend the day doing- cleaning

I got a bee in my bonnet and decided to spring clean our bedroom

That involves moving the whole bedroom around hhhhm and I wonder why I have a sore back

Of course madam Cleo Cat has to try and “help” me every step of the way- attacking the broom, the mop

Diving under the sheet when I try to change the bedding

I eventually sat down at 15h00!!!!

But I am so happy- my bedroom looks so much better and I feel better

Amazing how sometimes a little thing like that can lift your mood!

whats been happening so far

So I thought that it was about time that I finally updated my blog

Where to start

The 18th was B’s surprise party, and hell was I stressed out, trying to get everything sorted out on the last day.

I mean how can you plan and organise a surprise party for someone when you are living with them

I wanted to at least get some things ready at work, but trust MURPHEY and his stupid LAW, I had a week from hell at work that week and didn’t even have time to pee or drink tea

Oh well

Things all worked out perfectly in the end

He didn’t suspect a thing , which I really thought that he did, seeing how he kept on messing around with the plans that we made

( I ended up being such a bitch to him, just so I could get my way and things would run smoothly) Poor guy thought I had PMS

He arrived a bit early (typical) but at least there were people there, he was so overwhelmed, he didn’t say anything for almost an hour (note to self, do this again of I want to keep him quiet for a bit)

A fantastic evening was had, plenty of friends, good rugby and loads of drinks

HAPPY BIRTHDAY FOR THE 20th JULY MY LOVE

a big thank you to everyone

Wow, where do I begin

Well a huge THANK YOU to everyone for the wonderful birthday wishes on Friday

So as almost everyone knows, I am planning a surprise party for B for Saturday the 18th

And about 2 weeks ago I had a feeling that he was up to something, after asking EVERYONE what was up, I was told that I am imagining things, nothing is going on

Well apparently nothing could be further from the truth

On Friday night we were supposed to go have a quick drink with B’s reps at the Waterfront and then go out for sushi

Well SUPPOSED is the operative word

We got there and yes it was just his reps- and then my best friend pitches up- no huge surprise there as I also asked her to come

Then Wilmien- ok also no shock- she works at the Waterfront

So I ask B- who else is coming and he tells me EVERYBODY, now by this time I don’t believe a word as I have been trying to find out info for ages and everyone told me I was mad

So then B’s sister walks in, and Wendy and kids (I used to teach her kids) and then Nicky and Lameez

So now my mind is seriously in shock- I mean how the hell the girls from my FAVOURITE forum hear about this- well it turns out that he mailed some of the girls- he got their addys from mails I had forwarded to him

And that Eve had helped by sending it to the CT ladies

SO A HUGE THANK YOU TO ALL INVOLVED

I had a wonderful birthday and was so spoilt- I thoroughly appreciate you taking your time and coming to join us

Saturday B and I just lazed around the house and then went and did a spot of shopping, then it was time to meet Ryan at Rascals as we had rugby tickets

Trunched around in the heavy rain t the rugby- thank goodness I had my new ski jacket so I stayed nice and dry (well my top half anyway- legs were drenched)

And how disappointing- the SHARKS lost to WESTERN PROBLEMS of all teams- so you can imagine that the boys were gloating

Sunday I was under strict instructions from Dr B to rest my back- app he says I don’t listen to the Dr properly so I have to listen to him, so the only time that I was allowed to get up was to wee- I didn’t complain too much, he had to run around all day and make me tea LOL that will teach him

This week is going to be and already is hectic at work, and I am trying to get all the stuff for B’s surprise party organised- I will post pics of it

i am LIVID

Sorry I haven’t posted in a while- will do the big update soon- but in the planning stages of something for DH’s birthday

Ok the reason that I am actually so livid- so yesterday I get a mail from Baby and Company, telling me that a “friend” referred me to their competition and that I can win a pram and a R1000 gift voucher from Baby and Co

Ok my first reaction was WTF!!! I had a MC 4 months ago- ok but maybe she just entered addys and didn’t think- so I mail her and say “Um what am I supposed to do with a pram?”

And her response “LOL if you win you can give it to me”

Ok now this is the same person from my previous post that I am having a hard time dealing with her pregnancy (my issue I know)

But I really found that to be so insensitive

I know I am dealing with this- and think that I am doing a good job- but then this comes and knocks you over the back of your head

I mean really, am I maybe being too sensitive here??

I think that people should just take a second and think what they are doing or saying- because it can really hurt the person on the other end

Monday, June 22, 2009

its monday

Can you believe that the weekend went by so quickly?

Haven’t written in a while- I had a bit of a crap feeling sorry for myself week last week

one of our friend’s told me last week that she is pregnant and while I am really happy for her, damn am I feeling sorry for myself. So when she told me all I could do was burst into tears!

Although I know that you never get over a MC- it gets better, but this one just hit me for a 6

I mean I am so happy for all the ladies on the forum with their BFP’s and babies that have really been popping out this month, I have no idea why this one hit me so hard

Sort of feels like everyone around me is falling pregnant and not me (even though we are officially not TCC)

So anyway I think I just need to get over myself and deal with it

B has been fantastic but thinks now that this is all his fault because he wants to wait until our papers for NZ come through before we start TCC again ( papers are only going in in Sept)

Weekend was great, went to the Vodacom Comedy Fest at the Baxter on Fri night, I laughed so much that halfway through I had a mega asthma attack that I struggled to control and had to try not to laugh- not easy let me tell you

Saturday we went to watch B’s old high school play their school games (these old boys and their dedication to their schools) it ws loads of fun with Wynburg remaining unbeaten. All I can say is WOW those guys are HUGE and they are still in school???

Then it was off to the local to watch the BOKS and the Lions. YEAH won that too. And I won a rugby ball and bottle opener there!

Sun was Father’s Day- missed my dad loads, so was a little on the quiet side yesterday, but had a lovely day none the less, went to the Flea Market and made a roast and watched the rest of 4400

So back at work and at the grindstone, damn I wish that I could win the lotto and retire (the R35 I won of Sat is just not going to cut it)

Or maybe even just get a job that I can work from home- or a teaching job again

There I go day dreaming again

Don't let your future mother in law be in charge of your wedding invitations

TGIF

Thank goodness the weekend is finally in sight-come on 16h00

I felt so bad last night, we got home and B decided to make a new dish for us for dinner, so after my bath I went to sit on the couch and promptly fell fast asleep AT 19h45!!!   WTF

I only woke up again when it was time for bed, got up brushed my teeth and fell fast asleep again.

I’ve come to realise that it is so odd to have so many “friends” that know the most intimate part of your life- and yet most of us have never met.

On a totally diff note, I really really miss teaching, if I could have packed the school that I was teaching at in Pretoria up and been able to bring it with me to CT, I would be so happy. It was so fantastic- from the kids, to the parents, to the other teachers.

Those little kids can make such an impact on your life, its astounding

Thursday, June 11, 2009

Ok so I am officially not amused- we lost the rugby and from now on I think I am going to have to stop watching rugby and watch a game that my team might just win- um maybe table tennis?

Last night a job opportunity for teaching came my way, that will make me so happy, but there is a lot to think, so I am holding thumbs and hoping it goes my way, and if not then I will need to just hold out for another teaching job.

I have been suffering so badly lately from my allergies again and last night was so blocked up and sneezing, needless today I woke up with the mother of all sinus headaches

But B being the darling that he is, got me some meds and nose spray and brought them to work, so hopefully tonight I can have the first “allergy” free night on weeks, THANKS LOVE

Wednesday, June 10, 2009

Ok so I started this blog when I found out that I was pregnant, and to be honest I haven’t had the courage to come back to it at allafter my MC , but after a bit of soul searching and some TLC from my friends (thanks Ladies) I am now starting a new chapter in my life

Last week I decided to go a bit drastic and after years of being blonde, then a red head, I have dyed my hair BLUE-BLACK, Yip, you read right BLUE BLACK

Everyone tells me that they love it, B loves it, but for the first few days I got the fright of my life everytime I walked past the mirror, my hair is now the same colour as Cleo’s and my boss calls me Mortitia

So after the whole Super 14 debacle (bloody sharks) I am not the rugby supporter that I was, so tonight hopefully my team will be able to redeem themselves against the British and Irish Lions (well what little team we have left as most of them are Boks)
